Third year Architecture student in the University of Santo Tomas :)

I will post, in this blog, my plates, scale model pictures and inspiration pieces for my classes :)

LOVE YOUR BLOCKMATES!

Your blockmates will be with you for one whole year and they are the people that will help you get through one hell of a ride! I have friends from other blockmates that tell how much they dislike their blockmates and I pity them because I love my blockmates. Maybe I was just really lucky to get to know each and everyone of them and maybe my friends didn’t know how to handle a bunch of different people the right way.

All blocks will have different kinds of people from different walks of life and this should never stop you from befriending them. So what if they don’t speak fluent english? So what if they can’t afford a drink from Starbucks? So what if she wears make-up everyday? So what if he’s too hyper? So what if she’s a teacher’s pet? Treat everyone equal and get to know them throughout the year. Not only will you expand your circle of friends, you’ll also gain experiences and memories with them that are worth keeping and cherishing forever. (Plus, they help that everyone will contribute will help you in your academics hahaha)

Yes, your class won’t be perfect. You might get into misunderstandings and dislike some of your blockmates but that’s perfectly normal. Try to settle your problems with them and get on with life because burdening yourself with hatred for someone won’t make life in Architecture easier for you. Befriending everyone will, that’s for sure!

You’ll have several adventures with your blockmates! Don’t be buzzkill and go with their adventures! Ask permission from your parents and gain trust from them so they won’t have to worry about you when you’re out with your friends. You’ll go to different sites in different provinces. You’ll eat out almost every week with them and sometimes go to malls to treat yourselves to a movie.

Yes, you will drink at some point in your life and it’s not all bad! You just have to know what’s right and what’s wrong. Know your limits. Always bear in mind that your parents trust you to be responsible and that there are consequences for the things you do that go out of hand. There is a fine line between living the life and getting out of control. Drinking after a really hard and major plate is actually pretty fun and rewarding especially when you’re with the right people!

Getting to talk to your blockmates about things not academically related are the most fun conversations ever! Inside jokes, rumors, stories from high school and many more so don’t be shy and join in conversations.

These are just some “advices” I can tell and remember right now but I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to experience them once school starts! Excitiiiing! Oh, and you’ll never know, you might even meet your best friend in there!

I don’t even want to shuffle classes anymore. I love 1AR3 AY2011-2012! But I must move on and meet more awesome people!
